Christmas was so much fun this year! I didn't even remember most of what I received (sorry I was so excited about our news) until after we got home and started to unpack.
Surprises all around started on Friday night with the McCoy's they had invited us over to see their tree, play games and catch up! We decided to tell them by having Moe come in with a big brother shirt on. Ryan read Moe's shirt and then shrugged his shoulders and looked at James (later we found out he thought James was telling him don't ask she wanted him to wear clothes) So we started to get dinner and Ryan starts mentioning all the different drinks he had available and I told him I would pass and that Moe had something to tell them and that I would stick with water. They were totally surprised!
Then Saturday we moved onto the Bennett's for Christmas! We got their early in the morning and we had to wait ALL day! Remember I'm horrible with secrets! We decided that we would tell them that evening after dinner while Uncle Lyle was also there. We gave them a card for Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt telling them their new titles and the due date from Baby Bennett as well as a brag book for later use. As you can imagine their were tears of joy, happiness and hugs all around! Later that evening I overheard Rebecca and Janice talking all about baby things and the toys they had downstairs. Oliver started giving us a list of family names. There was such excitement it's a wonder we got any sleep that night!
Christmas afternoon we headed to the Rolin's as soon as we got there I wanted to tell them but James wanted to wait until everyone was there....Erika and Mikhayla weren't going to be there until after 5:30 or so. As we are all sitting in the living room I gave a please beg signal to James he said okay with a shrug. I was super super excited! I just couldn't hold it in any longer. We decided that we would tell Erika and Mikhayla as soon as they got there. So we went back into the living room and James picked up Mom's camera because I wanted to get their reactions. Later my mom told me she was curious as to why James would grab the camera but quickly forgot about it. We gave them all their cards signed by Baby Bennett. My sister was the first get to get hers open she thought it was from Moe at first...totally surprised! Then finally my mom got the card open and more tears and hugs continued! We are so excited! When Erika and Mikhayla arrived we presented their cards to them. Mikhayla was a little confused and thought that Baby Bennett was Moe so we had to explain that she was going to be the big cousin and would have to teach baby Bennett all the cool things in life! Erika said that she talked the whole way home about the baby!
Next surprise was a phone call to Mandi and Laurie! I asked Mandi if Lyla could come for a play date in the middle of August, she said sure and then said wait? what? does that mean? Then burst into tears!!! I can't wait for Lyla and Baby Bennett to grow up together and best of friends like Mandi and I are!!! I finally got a hold of Laurie later that night and asked her if the girls were available to babysit in the middle of August. Again she said sure then things settled in! Laurie and the girls are the best babysitters a baby could ask for. I can't wait for the diaper dandy to do a quick change! They are getting a lot of practice in on the twins! They will be pros by August!!
